Gretsch Comes Alive At NAMM! What a year for Gretsch!

Story & Photos by UEC

What a year it has been for the Gretsch Company! Not a month has gone by when there hasn’t been a new signature guitar model or complete new product series released. The good people at Gretsch have certainly been working overtime to bring you all of these great new products at a record pace! In the past year alone we’ve seen the release of the Brian Setzer Hot Rod guitars, the Bo Diddley Big “B” guitar, the Keith Scott Gold Nashville guitar, the re-introduction of the fabulous Electromatic and Historic series guitars and the acquisition of Bigsby Vibratos.

What could possibly be next?

GRETSCH is HOT!!

Well, without missing a beat, the Gretsch Company has done it again! Making a huge splash at the, Winter NAMM 2000 convention in Los Angeles, the booth was packed with hundreds of excited visitors getting a first hand look(and feel) at some of the great new guitars and drums that will be hitting the stores this year. Introduced at the show were the new Stephen Stills Signature White Falcon guitar, the Elliot Easton Signature Jet guitar and the new Synchromatic Series of great looking and affordable classics.

Of course, there were plenty of great artists that stopped by the Gretsch Booth throughout the show! Vinnie Colaiuta was there on opening day! Denny Seiwell stopped in for a visit, he has been playing Gretsch for over 30 years! Bruce Gary came by and jammed with Elliot Easton, who was showing off his new signature axe, and Jack Gavin joined Alvino Bennett, Denny and Bruce for a massive, 4 drummer jam session that stopped the show!!

There’s really nothing quite like the fun of Winter NAMM in LA. Here are a few out-takes from the recent show, you can click for larger images, hope you enjoy!
