My Dad bought the same 1957 Duo Jet for me from my sixth grade basketball coach. I still have the guitar and it plays better than any guitar I have ever played. My recollection is that he paid $150 for the guitar and a Fender Champ amplifier (unfortunately I let the amp go). Also, unfortunately, George was a little more successful with his Duo Jet than I, but it is cool how kids living world's apart fell in love with the same guitar.
